Token’s Arcade

Tokens Arcade isn't just a room full of machines; it’s a time capsule. My goal was to capture the sensory overload of a classic 1980s arcade and translate that into a high-conversion promotional asset. I took this project from initial concept through to final delivery, serving as the writer, director, videographer, and lead editor.

The Strategy

  • Script & Rhythm: I developed a "rhythmic" script designed to sync perfectly with the mechanical sounds of pinball. The copy was engineered to answer the three biggest customer questions—Where is it? How much is it? When are they open?—within the first 15 seconds.

  • Dynamic Cinematography: I used aggressive, low-profile camera movements to put the viewer "inside the machine." By focusing on macro shots of the flippers and the neon reflections on the glass, I emphasized the tactile, physical nature of retro gaming that you can’t get on a smartphone.

  • Motion Design: To maintain the "high-score" energy, I designed custom motion graphics with a digital-glitch aesthetic. These weren't just overlays; they were integrated into the edit to act as visual punctuation, ensuring the pricing and location data were unmissable.

  • Post-Production: I applied a stylized color grade to enhance the "synthwave" palette of pinks, blues, and greens, paired with a soundscape that blended 8-bit nostalgia with modern pacing.

The Result

A high-energy, broadcast-ready commercial that effectively rebranded the arcade for a new generation while honoring its vintage roots. The final cut serves as a multi-purpose asset, optimized for both wide-screen broadcast and vertical social media engagement.
